Carbon Reduction Plan

CO2 emissions

R-Health has an established Carbon Reduction Plan and we have now translated this into a clear CO₂ reduction target and Net Zero commitment.

Our current reported footprint is 1,740 kg CO₂e of Scope 2 emissions for 2023–24 (indirect emissions from purchased electricity). Building on this baseline, R-Health is committing to reduce our location-based Scope 2 emissions by at least 50% by 2030 and to achieve Net Zero across our direct operations (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2040, with full Net Zero including material Scope 3 emissions by 2045, in line with wider NHS ambitions for a net zero health service.

We will meet these targets through a combination of measures: switching to 100% renewable electricity tariffs for our offices and clinics as contracts fall due; investing in energy-efficient lighting, heating and IT equipment; minimising business travel by defaulting to video meetings and remote consultations where clinically appropriate; encouraging low-carbon staff commuting through flexible working, public-transport use and cycle-to-work schemes; and progressively engaging our key suppliers to measure and reduce the embedded carbon in our purchased goods and services.

Progress against targets will be reviewed annually.
